Geocache Description:

You're looking for a small pot, hidden under scorched wood, base of signpost

Please be careful of nettles at this location during summer months.

Welcome to the Buscot Bunker Bimble!

This is a series of 17 caches placed in a loop of approximately 3 miles over farmland. The North section of the walk follows the Thames Path between Buscot lock and Eaton footbridge at Kelmscott.
Unfortunately the hides are fairly uninspiring in this section, however the river and scenery are lovely and you will also pass by 2 small fortified structures constructed as a part of British WW2 anti-invasion preparations. They were popularly known as pillboxes, a reference to their shape. There are a few bigger caches in the southern section of the route suitable for travel bugs and Swag.
This series can be combined with Roobydoo's Buscot Weir Cache (GC14EXT) or the Kelmscott Loop for a longer walk.

Possible Hazards

The walk is near deep water for a significant length, so please be careful of unstable river banks and keep an eye on children.
Livestock may also be present in the fields, however the farmer has set alternative routes around field borders which can be used instead of crossing them directly. Please keep dogs under control.
Paths will be muddy in wet weather so stout walking boots or wellies are recommended.

This series has been placed with kind permission of the National Trust
