'No fantastic stained glass windows. No magnificent screens. No electricity, gas or water. Just a simple stone church set in the midst of fields close to the banks of the River Exe. Lit by candles, heated by the warmth of its congregation' according to the church's website.
The Domesday Book mentions a church on or near this site with much of the present building dating from the 1400s. Substantial renovations took place in 1890 and 2008.
The church only hosts a few services a year and is locked outside of these times. To find the cache you will need to walk across the field (use the waypoint to locate the gate) and enter the churchyard. As well as several mature trees there are quite a few elaborate gravestones and a lot of Alfords.
Look for Edwin Ernest Alford of Netherexe Barton who passed in to the presence of the Lord July Ath BCDE aged FG. You will also note that his wife Louie Margaret Alford entered in to rest April STth UVWX aged YZ.
Edwin will help you find the cache at N 50 AF.(S+1)G(E-F) W 003 (U+2)X.ZWT
The cache is a key rock at ground level. From the right angle it will be in plain view
