This cache is set on the original Fairbanks to Chena Hot Springs Highway. Built around 1905 to serve as access to various mining claims farther east as well as the route to the Hot Springs.
It is still considered a public highway and is designated as RST 2477 Route 278
You can see it still get used quite extensively the winter time by multiple uses.
