Geocache Description:

A small cache hidden in Fort Taber park that should provide you on some history of the area through a hopefully easy Internet search. Once you have solved the puzzle, you will be looking for a small lock-and-lock container.

Determine the full date for each of the following historical events associated with the fort. Substitute the missing digit in each of the years in the following formula to give you the coordinates for the cache:

North 41 35.ABC

West 070 54.CCD

18A1: Brass and iron cannons were mounted to the groundworks of the fort to protect the Clark’s Cove and Acushnet River approaches to the city. This temporary defensive position was named Fort Taber, in honor of the city`s chief executive at that time.

194B: A state of war was declared, and tensions ran high in the fort due to newspaper reports talking about incidents of German submarines within the general area of Buzzards Bay and Newport Rhode Island.

186C: The walls of the granite fort were completed to such a height as to block Fort Taber’s view of the Acushnet River.

189D: The Barton-Walcott batteries on the west and east sides of the fort were constructed.

The cache may be a bit tricky to find without the hint as there are many hiding places, so please use it. In addition, PLEASE replace the cache as found and make sure it is out of view of the path. Thank you!
