Geocache Description:

This cache takes you for a short walk through the Rockingham Naval Memorial Park.

The Naval Memorial Park contains a number of commemorative plaques, a 4.5 inch gun turret of H.M.A.S. Derwent (DE 49) and a submarine fin from H.M.A.S. Orion.

Please take your time and show your respect to those who have defended our country.

To complete this task, you will need to collect some information from each of the waypoints.

The final location is

S32 AB.CDE

E115 VW.XYZ

You will also need MN & OPQ on your way.

The clues can be gathered as follows

WP1 - On this plaque, is a tribute to THE ROCKINGHAM - How many Children were on this ship ? Subtract 60 from your answer...This is AB

WP2 - On this plaque, the opening details of THE NAVAL MEMORIAL PARK - What year was it opened ? Subtract 1393 from your answer...This is CDE

WP3 - You will find a plaque with a message BOYS TO MEN - The ship on this plaque is the HMAS ??????. Convert each letter of ?????? to a number (a=1, b=2....z=26) and add them up to give you a 2 digit number, subtract 9 from this number. This will give you VW

WP4 - On this plaque, you will see the captains/commanders of THE HMAS PERTH - Each name is given as a pair of initial, and a surname. Take the 3 pairs of initials and convert them to a two digit number using the same method as WP3. This number will be MN

WP5 - On this plaque, is a ROLL OF HONOURS to RAN FLEET AIR ARM OPQ Squadron

You now need to add MN + OPQ - 15 to give you XYZ
