Iron Maiden's most epic song perhaps is a monumental 13 minute long interpetation of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's famous poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. We picked this spot because the closest NZ has to an ancent mariner culture would of course be Iwi, on their way via Waka to their Kaiapoi base in the days long since gone.
Simply an epic song in the live setting, as was seen at their concert at Westpac Arena in 2008. View a clip for yourself here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AmrIydnXIs
As lead singer, pilot, author, radio DJ, airline owner, fencer and general legend Bruce Dickinson would say, "this is a tale of what not to do when your bird sh!ts on you!"
As an aside, my 5th form English teacher bought the Maiden version to school for our classes, much to Mr TS's delight back in the late 1980's! (showing my age now?)
