Dogliest: My cache location is now destroyed by the failure of the retaining wall. It was not the fault of cachers, but just the wall couldn't hold the weight of the wet ground it was trying to hold back.

This is a great place for a cache so hopefully someone else can use it to hide a great one. I am not going to re-hide here unless it goes many months without a new cache.

Geocache Description:

This cache location is at a little-known staircase in the greater downtown area of Anchorage. The staircase is a public access route and is often used by kids attending the nearby elementary school. Please be courteous to the neighbors but stealthy enough to not reveal the cache to muggles. The cache is micro size and you do not need to leave the normal walking areas to find it.

Parking is easy at the west/upper end of the stairs, but complicated at the east/lower end where the area in front of the stairway is actually a driveway for several homes.

As of March 2015, a short distance south from the bottom of the staircase is a memorial area for a 32 year old man who died in a pedestrian-auto collision in December.
