Considering the weather could be very cold, or even snowing, or blowing, or raining hard we will not ask you to go far for this first find of the year. As is typical for our New Year caches, it is easy to get to. You can even drive almost right to it.
Unfortunately there is nothing special about this location like we would like there to be - no fantastic view, no wonderful walk in the great outdoors, not much of an opportunity to chat with friends as you walk along, no way to get a good start on your 10,000 steps for the day.
This is almost an example of a bad cache placement - drive to it - find it - sign the log - replace as found - get in your car and leave. You have earned one more smiley face. Just another cache, if you are counting numbers.
BUT, it could be the start of your day out caching with friends and the opportunity to chat as you do go to find the lovely forest trail to enjoy. It could also be the cache where someone makes their first find ever because they were not sure what 'caching is all about' and wanted something easy to start. It could be the only cache for the day if you are busy and trying to fill your calendar. It could be the cache of the day if it is bear season and you are wary of the forest trails. It might be the cache that stops a tourist and then they might stay and enjoy our beautiful Alberni Valley instead of 'truckin on' to the West Coast.
This won't ever be a favourite cache I'm sure, but it will be here for those who want it, for those who need it, for those who just cannot do a forest trail, or for those who are just interested to see where it was placed. By signing the log you have earned another smiley for your collection.
What ever the reason you had to seek this cache - welcome and thank you - and you have found a simple cache with something on the page about why it is here. We placed it here just for you - just so you could find it.
If you had fun seeking this cache and earning the smiley, please allow others to do the same. Spoiler logs or photos MAY BE DELETED.
Warm Congratulations to Team Pawz for their FTF on a very cool morning
