Let There Be Rock Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ziggiau: I've hung onto this one for a long time, but despite finding new locations in this park over the years, nothing works in the long run. So see ya Bon Scott! That also makes for an opening in my Aussie music naming conventions by having access to the whole AC/DC catalogue again.

Geocache Description:

Scott Reserve is the most north westerly point of the suburb of Roselands. The park includes a playground and a few shady spots, but it's the view of the entire south west of Sydney that is the major draw card. Take a moment to enjoy the vista while you mentally block out the traffic noise behind you.

Although the park is not named after Bon Scott of AC/DC (who wrote the lyrics to Let There Be Rock, released in 1977), it makes for a great excuse to grow your mullet and turn the volume up to 11 while remembering the driving beats of some classic Aussie rock from the 70s.

If looking to do a park and grab, DO NOT try to park on Canterbury Rd, it's just not possible. Rather, use the Griffith Pde pathway (indicated as trailhead) beginning on Farnham Ave where there is ample safe suburban parking.

October 2017 Update: I've moved the cache to a location a little further up the hill (better view), but do take care with the finding and replacing as there is a high chance of stuffing things up here. If you maneuver slowly you'll be rewarded.
