Bettis' Music Store was located on the corner of 176/Barrington Road. (There is a hookah lounge there now) Rita was the mom of the Bettis brood and gave music lessons at the shop. The store moved to Main Street into the old Wauconda National Bank buildingin the 70's. The son took over the business and sold guitars amongst other instruments. One townie and above named cacher, recalls getting drum/guitar lessons in the vaults downstairs. Well known musicians came to Wauconda to buy their guitars. The shop closed it's doors in the late 80's... and so it is-townie knowledge!
The way in to this cache has a slippery leafy slope, a creek cross (pretty low at this time), and look out for metal debris laying around. So be careful! Would not recommend finding during winter. There may be an easier way in, but may be illegal.
Congrats L O S T - S O U L for Honorary FTF and to VBTZ for FTF!!
