I couldn’t resist placing this cache to thank leecar23 for thinking of this series.
You get two for the price of one with this cache. The original Jolly Carter was knocked down and replaced in the early 1990s. The Jolly Carter was at 72 Royle Green Road. There are photos of the pub taken in 1907 and 1970 when it was a Manchester (Strangeways) based brewery and the new Jolly Carter pub pictured here by Alan Winfield in 1994. The pub was pulled down in 2004 and Cedarwood Close was built a year later.
This is what it looks like now (I wonder if the owners know?)
The road is very busy and there is a bus stop very near the cache so please be discreet.
Should you like to place your own TGP cache, please look at the related web site and contact leecar23. The location itself must be a closed pub that has become something else or has been demolished and has NO possibility of reopening as a pub. Please add some history of the pub/building when it was open if possible.
The cache is accessible by wheelchair users and although magnetic, the item its attached to isn't very metallic, so please replace carefully.
Congratulations to tech17 on such a quick FTF and to Royal Oak for publishing
