Geocache Description:

Click to see a Cooper at work

Once a scenic 18-hole golf course, Pistol Creek is now a 77 acre preserve owned and maintained by the town of Berlin. Today, all that remains of the course are asphalt cart paths, a few bridges and aged wooden signs. Visitors can discern the former holes as they walk along the cart paths while taking in the views of the rolling hills and larger trees dividing the fairways.

The town purchased the property in 2008 after it had been abandoned for a few years. An effort by local residents saved the golf course from commercialization, and now the forest is reclaiming the land. The 4 miles of golf cart paths is a great way to explore Pistol Creek on horse, bike or by foot.
