Lake Moodie was named after John Moodie about 150 years ago.
John was a shepherd for Rose Bank Station and he had not returned so the owner went looking for him and found John camped at the lake safe and well. This area was leased to Rose Bank Station in the 19th century.
When Lake Moodie is full of water it covers an area around 4 hectares.
I can remember my grandfather walking about that they used to go and watch the boat racing Lake Moodie.
You will be disapointed if you was expecing water i was when geocaching mother told me of this place
