SEATTLE SEAHAWKS LOGO
While applying for an NFL team in 1974, the company that would become the franchise holders requested ideas for a name. More than 20,000 names were suggested, and “Seahawks” was chosen. The company hired a design firm to create the logo, and Northwest Native American art was studied as an inspiration
The logo, which debuted in 1975, was originally drawn by a Quinault artist and was heavily influenced by the indigenous forms of art that are easily recognized as being from the Pacific Northwest
The Seattle Seahawks logo features the face of a seahawk with the eyes, beak, and the neck. It symbolizes the team’s glorious journey of success, pride, and glory.
Did you know? Seattle is the only team to have played in both the AFC and NFC Championship Games
