Geocache Description:

The cache has been replaced with a 2" x 6" x 5" lock 'n' lock container covered in camouflage tape. It's located a few paces east of the blue-blazed Metacomet Trail in East Granby, CT.

From the junction of SR 20 and Newgate Rd it's a short, moderately steep climb to the ridge. The trail becomes fairly level until your final ascent of Copper Peak. Fantastic basalt rock formations and the spectacular vista from Copper Peak reward the hiker. From here you can see the restored Old New-Gate Prison and Copper Mine (1773). You will find TWO benchmarks at the peak and SIX letterboxes along the trail within one mile of this cache. You can obtain the details for the Newgate Prison (4) and Barrel of Monkeys/What a View (2) letterboxes at the www.letterboxing.org.

The contents have been replaced by copper related items.
