Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. Enter the 21-letter keyword into Certitude to unlock the URL of a SECOND, related puzzle. The physical cache is at the solution to the second puzzle.

I love libraries. An island away from today's hustle and bustle, they are a refuge of peace and quiet. The biggest library in the world is the Library of Congress (LoC). Located right on First Street SE (between Independence Avenue and East Capitol Street) in Washington, the Thomas Jefferson Building used to be the LoC's main building. There are two other LoC buildings on Capitol Hill. A rural Virginia location houses the LoC's conservation center.

If you find yourself in London, you can visit the world's second largest library, the British Library. With over 150 million items in its collection, the British Library is a preeminent research library in Europe. Works from many countries, in many languages and in many formats compose its collection. Its content grows each year by some three million new items, occupying 6 miles of new shelf space.

The other libraries in the top five (by number of items in the collection) are the New York Public Library (53.1 million items), the Russian State Library (44.4 million), and the Bibliothèque nationale de France (40 million). Alas, no geocache is right at the New York Public Library (GCHV7T is close). A geocache (GC2M3M6) IS at the Russian State Library. The Russians know something the New Yorkers don't! Head east and a little north from an earthcache in Paris (GC1HGEH), and you will arrive at the two geocaches that grace France's national library.

For smaller versions of these grand buildings, the Yolo County library system does quite nicely. With seven branches in addition to the Winters Community Library (the posted coordinates of this cache!), the YCL serves the various needs of young and old patrons alike. In the Davis library, I have had the now-archived puzzle cache (GC4FKN5) and its active successor (GC7H950), both placed with permission of YCL staff. You ought to check out GC7H950! There's more caching fun in Woodland, where the library is the site of a couple caches. In every library, there is the possibility to unlock a new world (kind of like geocaching!).
