Tvärsöver vägen från denna gömma ligger ett av Tollstorps bys äldsta hus.
Den gamla torpstugan som ligger längst in på tomten är vid storskiftet i Tollstorps by, 1790-92, hitflyttad från annan plats i byn.
Vid Lagaskifte 1877-83 görs återigen förändringar i markfördelningen och Lilla hem mister sina marker,
efter detta blir Lilla Hem ett torp utan mark, med inneboende som måste livnära sig på annat sätt än jordbruk.
På sin höjd någon ko, gris och höns fanns utrymme att hålla.
Dessutom hade ladugården blivit tvungen att kortas några meter i samband med järnvägens anläggande
då den annars hade kommit att ligga obehagligt nära spåren. Den är dock riven numera.
Huset som ligger med gaveln ut mot vägen är nybyggt.
Idag är Lilla Hem åretruntbostad efter att i många år varit sommarstuga.
Cachen ligger på den plats där det fram till slutet på 70-talet låg en banvaktsstuga.
