Geocache Description:

Congratulations to RDAD for the FTF!!!

There is a FTF geocoin for you!

At 14,003 feet, or 14,012 feet, depending on where you look, Mt. Huron barely makes it into the books as one of Colorado's "Fourteeners"!!!  Mt. Huron is one of the easier 14ers to climb/hike and I must agree with what I have read about it being one of the most beautiful hikes of any in the Sawatch Range. The views are awesome, especially at sunrise! Start your hike early so that you can catch the sunrise on your way up and so that you can be back down before the thunderstorms move in. We left the 4WD trail head at 4:30 AM. It took us about 3 hours to get to the top. The hardest part is the last 500' or so of elevation, from about where the cache is placed.

To get to the South Winfield Trailhead, take Chaffee County 390 West from Hwy 24, which is about 15 miles north of Buena Vista. Stay on the dirt, washboard  road  for about 12 miles. Here you will see the old restored ghost town of Winfield. Go south in Winfield and drive for .3 miles to the South Winfield Trailhead ( 2WD Parking). There is parking here for about 10 cars. If you have a good 4WD you can drive 2 more miles up the 4WD drive road to the "4WD Parking" and cut about 4 miles RT off the climb.

You are looking for a log only film canister. BYOP! I have also posted a few spoiler pictures, which are labels as so. You do not need to get near any cliff edges. This is right off the trail, before you hit the last and most difficult part of the climb. Have a great time!!!!! And, if you have any comments or suggestions regarding this cache, please post it as a log rather than sending me an email message. If you need an additional hint, an email message is OK. Thanks.
