Geocache Description:

Cache is not at posted coordinates. Posted coordinates are just the starting point. Plenty of parking nearby.

A note about these kinds of caches: Letterbox hybrids have stamps and ink pads in them. They are not trading items and stay in the cache. If you have a stamp, stamp the log book and use the cache stamp to stamp your book. If you don't have a stamp, just sign the log book and enjoy the find.

He stood up and stretched. He'd slept a long, long time.

The last thing he remembered the Grey Wizard saying was "Trust the ring. It will take you to where you need to be."

Well, he still had the ring. It was on chain around his neck.

He shook the dirt, grass, and bark off his clothes and hair.

Off in the distance, he saw three rows of pine trees. He began to walk toward them. He came to a fork in the path and noticed a map. The words and the map didn't really mean much to him, although he did marvel at the way the map was drawn so precisely and colorfully on the hard surface.

The ring pulled him to the right.

He walked along a paved path, passing through the rows of pine trees. There were lined up so nicely; he was certain that this did not happen by accident, but no one seemed to live here. "Very curious" he muttered to himself.

As he continued down the path, He stopped to look at row of pine trees that was perpendicular to to the path- four on the left, two on the right. He idly wondered, as he walked between the trees, if there had been another tree where the path crossed.

The ring continued to pull him down the path, which eventually took a sharp turn to the left.

He came to a crossroads of sorts, one way was gravel, another way led to a gate, and one pathway was flanked on either side by two pine trees. He fondly remembered the Ents and wondered if any were in this area.

The ring pulled him down the path guarded by the pine trees.

Off to the left, he saw a tree with white bark. How unusual, he thought. The ring pulled gently in the direction of this tree, then began to pull more strongly toward a downed tree near the white bark tree.

At the base, where the tree used to stand, he found what he was looking for. A treasure that, by its very presence, showed him the way home. He pulled out a notebook from his bag, and used the stamp to affix the magic symbol within his book.

He looked down at his hands, which were turning transparent. He smiled. He knew he was heading back to the time he belonged.

Two deer watched as the smiling hobbit slowly faded away.
