highcliffhanger: Time to archive this one. It was popular during the Mega but I think someone's taken to removing it.

Loudoun Hall was built in 1513 and its main structure is similar to many semi-fortified houses found in country areas. Sometime between 1528 and 1539 it became the property of Sir Hugh Campbell of Loudoun, Sheriff of Ayr. For many years it became the town house of the Sheriffs of Ayr and was one of the finest houses in the town. Twice in its history it was the home of a member of the Scottish Parliament. Unfortunately the fabric of the building started to deteriorate in the latter part of the 18th century and it came close to demolition in the 1930s. Fortunately it was saved for restoration and is now a popular meeting place for local clubs and societies.
