This series was placed to tell the history, show the beauty, as well as to break up the trip along Highway 4 going to the West Coast. All of the caches are placed on the right hand side of the road,so you do not have to cross the highway, as you head west towards Tofino/Ucluelet. The caches are well off the road and there are safe pullouts at each location. Please give drivers behind you plenty of notice when you are getting close to turning off the highway. There is also plenty of visibility for when you are pulling back out on the road. The entire road to the West Coast is bear and cougar country so please by vigilant.
You can get to this cache by crossing the Highway form the turn off to the Highway 4 Scenic/Historic Series #5. The road this cache is located on is the old Tofino highway and just as you are coming to this cache, where the campsites are, you will pass the old log dump spot. There is also a water barrel that they used to fill water into the logging equipment. I chose this location because of the really nice view of the west end of Taylor Arm, that is part of Sproat Lake, and the Taylor River. It is a shame that the logging destroyed the area behind you. This spot is tourist friendly and can be gotten to by any style of vehicle if you to take your time. You used to be able to go further down this road to connect back to the highway however the road has been deactivated and you will have to backtrack to get back to the highway.
Congratulations Team Pawz on your FTF and yes you were right about the puddl
