Big Stone would be considered a mature creek with its meandering, narrowness and small flood plains. On each side of the stream is the bank. Here muskrats make their lodges, River Otters belly-slide into the water and Blue-Flag Iris grows in abundance. Streams carry; water, sediments and dissolved ions into a bigger body of water. This sediment is considered the streams "load". The rushing water will erode the banks, which leads to meandering or the windiness of a stream.
