BRUNSWICK COUNTY BOTANICAL GARDEN
Brunswick County Botanical Garden is located at 25 Referendum Drive, Bolivia NC, 28422, in the County Government Complex, between buildings N and F. The garden was originally installed by, and is now maintained by, North Carolina Cooperative Extension Staff, and Extension Master Gardener volunteers. It is used as an educational tool for the Restitution Youth Program. Changes occur in the garden as educational programs necessitate, and as budget and volunteer labor is available. Currently, the garden contains a boardwalk with an outdoor seating area that will accommodate 12 to 15 people, three water features, a modest native plant selection, some edible plants, four turfgrass varieties, and a noteworthy Crape Myrtle collection. Three smaller seating areas that will accommodate four to six people are scattered throughout the garden. The primary purpose of the garden is to educate citizens of Brunswick County about responsible landscaping practices in ways that promote environmental stewardship and sustainability.
