Geocache Description:

As Canadians, we take pride in our starry skies, northern lights, and large stretches of wilderness. Saskatchewan's vast open landscape holds above it some of the darkest skies in Canada, and as such some of the best places for astronomical observing. This series of caches is named after the stars and constellations you may see as you look up.

Arcturus (HIP 69673)

Arcturus is an orange giant star in the constellation Boötes. At 37 light years away, it is the 3rd brightest star in the Earth's sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of -0.05. Arcturus is a multiple-star system. The iron abundance of Arcturus is -0.5 (31.6% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 121.7 km/s relative to the Sun.

Sky position: RA 14h 15.7m, Dec +19° 11.4'
