Geocache Description:

This cache is located on the Vassar Farms property, a 527 acre plot right in Poughkeepsie.  The Vassar Farm property has miles of well marked and maintained trails that will take you through woods and fields, past ponds, streams and marshes.  You will be treated to a vast variety of wildlife from deer to beaver, turtles to a multitude of bird species.  We have been given permission to use this area for our game, treat it with respect and enjoy what it has to offer.

This cache is located along a dirt road, just past two man-made ponds of course.  Emilia Pond is know as "the girl who waited."  Amy first met the Doctor when he crashed the TARDIS in her back yard when she was a young girl.  He promised to be right back, but did not return until many years later.  Amy never forgot the Doctor and, once he returned, she bacame his traveling companion.  Along with her fiancee/husband Rory, Amy enjoyed many perilous adventures.  She saved the Doctor from the "Pandorica" but her greatest test came against the Weeping Angels and the Daleks.  The former finally put an end to her travels by sending her back in time where the Doctor couldn't retrieve her.  It is later discovered that Amy is the mother to River Song.

The Vassar Farm property is open from sunrise to sunset. Coordinates for parking and trailheads can be found on GC54JTT (Little Blue Box) Dogs are allowed and must be leashed. There is a trail map on a kiosk as the main parking area or on their web site at http://farm.vassar.edu/map/ Bikes are allowed, but NOT on the Dark Blue, Green, or Black trails. I wouldn't recommend the use of bikes on the Yellow or Red trails either unless you consider yourself an excellent rider.
