I never realized Verona Beach State Park contained about 1500 acres east of Rt#13. It is generally flat and has some swampy areas along with several sandy walking trails to enjoy. Free parking is available until 8 or 9pm when the gate is closed for the night. There is a small lake or very very large pond for fishing or canoeing. Watch for horses and their byproducts. It is amazing!! While walking along a trail I looked to my left or was it my right. Can't believe it. I thought lemon trees grew in Florida but there it was, a tree with a single yellow lemon. BYOP. If you come to see the lemon tree please be gentle, it looks fragile and replace as found. Could be the only Lemon tree in the wilds of Verona Beach State Park. You are also looking for an attached pill bottle about 3 times larger than a film canister. Verona Beach State Park permit #017
