St Nicholas, Abbots Bromley
Church History
(from http://www.heritage-explorer.co.uk)
This Parish Church was originally built in the 13th century. There have been additions including the clerestory that was added in the 16th century. The West Tower was restored in the 17th century, after the collapse of a spire. The church also has several monuments including a Brass memorial to John Draycote, a political official of Abbots Bromley. There are also memorials to John and Edward Vernon members of the wealthy and well known Vernon family.
The church is home to the horns used in the annual Horn Dance.
Church Micro Series
I have enjoyed a number of caches in this series in other parts of the country and there are still relatively few in Staffordshire. Hopefully the caches that we place will encourage other Staffordshire-based CO's to contribute to the world's largest series. If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.

For full information on how you can expand the Church Micro series by sadexploration please read the Place your own Church Micro page before you contact him.
See also the Church Micro Statistics and Home pages for further information about the series.

The Cache
The cache is not in the church grounds.
The recycled plastic bench in the south east corner of the churchyard is made in the UK from over AB00 plastic bottles.
A board on the outside of the church shows the vicar's phone number to be CD0242
The gates at the north of the churchyard are in memory of Florence Amy Maurice who lived from 19EF to 19GH
The cache can be found at:
