History
In December 1915, the '250th Tunnelling Company’ began with the excavation, relayed by the '182nd Tunnelling Company ', the '3 rd Canadian Tunnelling Company’, the '175th Tunnelling Company' and the '171st Tunnelling Company'. Despite the German gas attacks the works progress fairly quickly and on June 12, 1916 the first two loads were placed. Late August 1916 a third load could be placed.
Meanwhile, the Germans used there ‘Ferdinand’-system in order to detonate on 19 and 20 February, 1917 over a distance of 70m, 3 charges. One already prepared chamber flooded and the tunnellers were forced to dig an additional chamber where they placed a fourth charge. On May 9, 1917, the four mines were ready.

In december 1915 startte de ‘250th Tunnelling Company’ met de graafwerkzaamheden, die vervolgens door de ‘182nd Tunnelling Company’, de ‘3rd Canadian Tunnelling Company’, de ‘175th Tunnelling Company’ en de ‘171st Tunnelling Company’ werden opgevolgd. De werkzaamheden vlotten vrij snel (ondanks Duitse gasaanvallen) en op 12 juni 1916 konden de eerste 2 mijnladingen geplaatst worden. Vervolgens werd werk gemaakt van een derde mijnlading, die eind augustus 1916 geplaatst kon worden.
Ondertussen zaten de Duitsers niet stil. Zo slaagden ze erin om vanuit hun ‘Ferdinand’-systeem op 19 en 20 februari 1917, over een afstand van 70m, 3 ladingen tot ontploffing te brengen, waardoor de springkamer van lading 1 onder water liep en de ‘tunnellers’ genoodzaakt werden om een bijkomende ruimte uit te graven, waar een 4de lading werd geplaatst. Op 9 mei 1917 waren de 4 mijnen klaar.

Ils sont remplacés par '182nd Tunnelling Company’, ensuite la ‘3 rd Canadian Tunnelling Company’, la '175th Tunnelling Company’ et la '171st Tunnelling Company’. Le travail évolu assez rapidement (malgré les attaques de gaz allemand) et le 12 Juin, 1916 les deux premières charges sont placés. Fin Août 1916, une troisième charge pourrait être placée.
Cependant les Allemands ont utilisé leur système ‘Ferdinand’ afin de détonner le 19 et 20 Février 1917, sur une distance de 70m, 3 charges. Une des chambres préparées a été inondé ce qui a forcé les ‘tunnellers’ à creusé une nouvelle chambre pour y placer une quatrième charge. Le 9 mai 1917, les quatre mines étaient prêts.
