Barley
Barley or another form of starch is required in all ales to form the basis of the beer. How much of it has been roasted will affect the colour of the beer produced at the end of the process, although it is generally only about 5% of the total amount of barley used that is varied to give the full range of colours.
The series
There was a set in this area of Gloucester park that was among the first caches I ever did, so when they were archived I thought it might be worthwhile creating a set that were harder to be muggled.
The series are all bottle tops from different ales with a bonus which requires the dates from two of the bottle tops.
Gloucester Park is a large park built to separate the town centre and the industrial estates nearby. It has now been split and part is owned by the Sporting Village and the council own the rest, some of which is being developed into housing estates.
Parking for the series is available for free in the Sporting Village car park. I have been given permission for the caches providing I make it clear that you do NOT need to climb any fences or enter any fenced areas of the Sporting Village. All caches are reachable without climbing a fence.
The cache
The first in the series is at the very edge of the Sporting Village land, and you will need to go off piste to find it. Having seen some litter about this cache is not on the floor.
