The Williamson Valley Road Series is a Friends of Morgan Ranch Nature Park history project. Even numbered caches are on the E side of the Rd; odd on the W for 44 mi. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU WORK 1 SIDE OF THE ROAD AT A TIME. Please pick up trash so the neighborhood trash-pickers are not drawn to the location.
ROAD TAX In 1866, the Arizona Legislative Assembly passed a law authorizing county supervisors to levy a tax to build highways. “The Board of Supervisors shall have power to levy a road tax on all able bodied men, which shall not exceed five cents on every one hundred dollars (property value), for road purposes . . . plus six dollars each, or at their option, two days’ work upon the road.” Arcadia Publication's Williamson Valley Road.
