We went and found Rock Bunker, a cache by davidleeg. On the way home from the cache I was driving north and I thought I saw a camel standing near the side of the road. Now, I have lived in Florida since the early 1960s. I have seen many many alligators, zillions of iguanas, snakes, raccoons, opossums, otters, a huge variety of birds, cows, horses, pigs, goats....... but never a camel! I had to make sure what I saw was really a camel so I make a U-Turn and went back. I was wrong. It wasn't one camel - there were three camels eating leaves from the trees. Wow! I went home, picked up Radioman84 and brought him back here. He thought this was so cool. He suggested we hide a cache nearby.
I did some research and found out the camel owners rent them out for film and television productions. There are also donkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, turkeys, horses, cows, mules, steer, ducks and chickens that live here.
We decided to hide the Camel Back cache across the street to bring other cachers to this interesting spot. This is an easy cache to find and there is plenty of parking. Hopefully you will find the cache, and more importantly, be able to view the animals. They are really cool.
If the camels are out nearby, please take photos of yourself with them behind you and post on the page. I'd love to see them!
