Welcome to the Annaconda Mining company road also known as the ACM road. This series of caches will be known as the ACM Express or "ACME" for short. We have spent a few weeks working out permissions to do this trail and the Thompson River Scenic Byway series"TRSB", going up Thompson River drainage as some of the land is forest Service, some is state land, and some is private"owned by Plum Creek". We have assured them to conform to thier request and so the journey begins. The ACM road was built by the Annacond Mining Company as a faster, and easier to maintain road to allow the hauling of timber to the sawmills where they could be processed to railroad ties and lumber for the mining company use. These days there are only a few logging trucks on the road anymore and it is used mainly for recreation for hunting, and fishing as well as a shortcut between Libby and Thompson Falls .Please enjoy the beautiful scenery, but be respectful and help keep it clean too. Thanks and have a safe and fun time. Almost all of these caches will be soda bottle preforms and maybe a few 35mm but not to many will post in hint exactly what you are looking for. Good Luck and bring your own pen.
