This is a series of caches based on the Goa’ulds of Stargate SG1. The Goa’ulds are a parasitic race who take over their preferred hosts, humans, and control them. They are the baddies of Stargate. This information and more from Official MGM Stargate website The walk is best done anticlockwise, else you will arrive at the approximate location for the Stargate but not have the correct coordinates! Each cache has a letter in it and that equates to the number given. All the caches are either small or regular (coffeemate plastic jars) and all are camoed. Please rehide carefully and as found (unless it is obvious they are not hidden then please find an appropriate hiding place and let me know if it needs maintenance. Thank you.

I retired Christmas 2013 and am now enjoying being able to get out and about; Sunday 16th February was a beautiful day so I headed to Wennington to set out this little round of caches that I had prepared using a famous search engine’s satellite map and the 1:25,000 of the Forest of Bowland (west sheet). The walk should take about 2 hours – my GPS made it 3½ miles.
Parking in Wennington isn’t obvious. The only car park is the station’s and that clearly says you should only park there if you are using the train! Fair enough! I parked by the phone and post box; the side of the road seems to be the only place to park and there are places where you will not block anyone’s access.
I was pleasantly surprised by this walk. It is all on public footpaths but, apart from the signposts, they are not obvious; don’t expect to follow tracks! It was also extremely muddy so walking boots are essential. All the paths are on farmland so please be aware of the locals. A couple are drive by but you would then miss this fantastic walk – views of virtually 360° without much height to climb.
