If you're here for more than 20 seconds looking at it, the lady in the nearby house will come and show you how the water works. So you need to be quick! However if she doesn't you can find the magic water by stepping on the stones in front, one of which has a magic push button underneath./p>
Once you've found the magic spring you can follow the road between the taverna and the church through the village and up to the right to the olive oil press and museum. Two little buildings and a courtyard. It was closed when I was there, but it was 10am on a Monday! There are amazing old olive trees with split trunks here you can walk inside.
Altogether the thing I like most about Silikou is the peace, it has one coffee shop, one taverna and nothing much else, the silence is deafening, well now it has one little cache too.
Surprisingly though, it can get really muggly here on high days and holidays and you're overlooked by the restaurant too, but this cache was in place for four months before publishing so proves that, if found and replaced with caution, it CAN stay muggle free.
Instead of the usual photography or fixing of shoelaces, your cover is 'I wonder where the water comes from!?'
