Geocache Description:

The cache is a tribute to one of my favorite Roman sites.

Wroxeter Roman City (Viriconium) was once the forth largest town in Roman Britain. Founded in the mid 1st century as a legionary fortress, the town around it was established circa. 90AD.

The cache is located at St. Andrews Church which is situated within the Roman City defences. Roman stone has been used to construct the church which can be easily seen: two amazing Roman columns holding up the church's main gates and the font inside the church has been carved out of the base of a Roman column.

This place is truly magical. Visit the Roman ruins maintained by English Heritage, visit inside the church, see the local vineyard and even go the Wroxeter Hotel for a beautiful Sunday lunch. Enjoy the cache.

Cache etiquette - please show respect where the cache is located, don't upset the local muggles.
