Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden in a quiet residenntial area.

This road is the kamakura kaidou(kamakura road).

Shogunate is opened in Kamakura end of the 12th century. It has been developed as a major transportation networks.
This road is called the "Nakanomichi". It is a way that leads to the Tohoku region through an Totsuka Eda(here) Iwatuki koga.

Container is total 300ml plastic cylinder.

ここは旧鎌倉街道だった道だと言われています。鎌倉街道には「上道」「中道」「下道」「山道」と言う主要な幹線道路が存在しました。上道の一部は町田市付近等で今でも主要な交通道路として現存しており（厳密には当時とは違う場所ではあるが）当時の古道（と思われる）も各地に残っています。

その後、江戸時代に整備された街道に比べ文献等の記録が少なく口述で伝承されている部分が多いため現在ではその特徴からルートを推測している箇所も多いと言われています。
その特徴とは舌状台地から尾根を通るルートかつ　なるべく直線的になるルートがとられ尾根部分は凹状かつ六尺から一間（９０～１８０ｃｍ）程度の細い道であったといわれています。
ここは中道（なかつみち、なかのみち）になり鎌倉から戸塚、荏田、岩槻、古河と東北地方へ続く道になります。

キャッシュは尾根の見晴らしの良い場所に隠しましたが、当時は木々が生い茂り凹んだ道のため、今ほど開けてはいなかったと推測されます。
