Geocache Description:

Enjoy this area, a great place to walk or ride your mountain bike.  Enjoy the walk around the area - it's beautiful here.

When Lewis and Clark came through this part of Montana, William Clark was impressed with the immense size of the cottonwood trees lining the banks of the Yellowstone River. Big Timber received its name from William Clark in appreciation of these trees. Big Timber is cattle country today and has one of the largest Norwegian settlements in Montana. The destinations include: Crazy Mountains Museum, Lion's Club Park, Yellowstone River Trout Hatchery, Half Moon Campground and Upper Big Timber Falls, Greycliff Prairie Dog Town State Park, and Big Timber Waterslide.

Enjoy!
