A traditional cache, set in the grounds of Ickworth Church, part of the Ickworth Park Estate.
From the centre of the Ickworth Estate, a gentle sloping walk on hard track leads you through parkland to the Church. On reaching the Church a path with slight incline takes you through the Church gate.
The grass within the Churchyard gently slopes & may need to be accessed.
The geocache is within the Churchyard and above ground level.
The container is an 'Official Geocache Box'.
Within the box you will find a message, official log book, pencils/pen/sharpener, disposable camera, our travel bug has began its adventures, swappable treasure & an info scroll.
Ickworth church is the oldest building on the Estate and has evolved over the last 900 years in both appearance and use. A resting place for the Hervey family for almost 550 years, since the burial of Thomas Hervey in 1467. St Mary's is no longer a functioning parish church, but reopened to the public on 25th June 2013 after an extensive renovation project. A number of special services and events will be held throughout the year and will be open to the public.
Access to the churchyard - all year round.
Access to church - opening hours apply (11am-3pm approx./subject to change).
If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first at churchmicro@gmail.com so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list”
