Geocache Description:

This geocache is located on the grounds of the Coronado Public Library with their permission. Although it is close to a parking spot, you'll have to park on the surrounding streets. Muggle traffic can be a problem, especially weekdays at lunch-time and when school is letting out. It's been muggled many times so please return it as you found it--as well hidden as possible.

5/4/16: Due to grounds maintenance the cache has been moved approximately 15' east from its previous location. The lat/lon has been updated. Library Building1

The Coronado Library was founded in 1890 by the Coronado Library and Free Reading Room Association.  In 1895 the Hotel del Coronado provided a small pavilion for use as the "Coronado Beach Library."  In 1909, John D. Spreckels, owner of the Hotel del Coronado, had architect Harrison Albright design and build a classical revival library building that still stands as the part of the library known as the Spreckels Reading Room.   With recent expansion and renovation the Coronado Public Library has grown to 40,000 square feet and it houses over 110,000 books, 14,000 DVDs & Blue-ray videos, and 300 magazines.  (From the Coronado Libary web site:  http://www.coronado.ca.us/library/.)

This cache is maintained by Boy Scout Troop 806. Bring a writing instrument to sign the log and there is no room for give-and-take.

For admission to the Beach Library Hall of Fame: In your visit log entry, use one word from the name of the Library’s used book store.  It is a three-word phrase and there is a sign over the entrance 50 feet due west of the cache location.

Hall of Fame: Tombmaker (FTF), Flagman (and for spelling advice), lovereddesert (for giving us sunshine), phibroo (the Scouter), lasvegastroop209 (helped start the Two Troop TB), Oesteado (x3), Gr8-pkin (in ALL CAPS), Looking4U (Eagle '74), deniel3 (who spread the news about GCing), OmahaIslander (while running around), Tanner Scout (for Fun With Son), the The JJ Duo (whose friend said Whoohoo), Dillweed (with Fisnjack), Silver Horde (who is a Charter Member), Wire Puller (with the Funny Girl), dlodwick (who just blurted it out), Littleluck (who loves our library), sergeanttred (who wrote great prose), Eagle Rock Rob (who did his civic duty), do buckos (in memory of an aunt), rjbloom & co (who is deemed worthy), advo guy (for taking a second look), hiking2175 (for his encouragement), Turtle Guy (because he stuck his neck out), Navy SWO 88 (because Navy '88 flamed me); FvStar (fast find!); r_lynne (who went book shopping); the irving (who must take big pills); HCRAT (great travel advice); and Sabar002 (for his awesome beard).
