Geocache Description:

Beautiful day for a hike in the woods with the leaves turning yellow, their color reflected in the sunshine.

Park at the gravel pit past Old Murphy Dome Rd. and take the locked, gaited road to access the far end of the embankment segment.  The cache is on the Tanana Valley Mines Railroad embankment near where the Railroad cossed the divide from Fox Creek (in the Goldstream River drainage over to the Vault Cr/Treasure Creek (in the Chatanika River drainage) on its way to Ridgetop Station and on to Chatanika.  Cache located waist high in fallen over brush pile in area where there are several scattered 4x6 rotting timbers (TVMRR ties?).  Can you hear the whistle blowing?  Watch out for trains.  If you have a metal detector, there are lots of RR spikes buried just under the duff all along this embankment.
