Co-ordinates are approximate because the location of this event depends a bit on parking availability in Oamaru on the day. We're driving from Dunedin in a bus restored by the Otago Historical Bus Society and I thought it would be fun to meet some local geocachers. We're planning to park our bus somewhere between the Steam Cafe and the I-Site in Oamaru.
I'll have a packet of gingernut biscuits on board, but if you don't want to spend a whole hour on the bus you may prefer to adjoin to one of the local cafes to chat with some cachers (hopefully both experienced and a bunch of novices) for a chat.
The rendez-vous time for the event at the bus is 2pm (although we may be parked there earlier). Our bus will leave Oamaru for the return journey at 3pm, so you have an hour to find us and sign the logbook.
If you live in Dunedin and want to attend the event, our bus leaves at 9am from the Otago Tramping and Mountaineering Clubrooms, 3 Young Street, St Kilda, and we plan to be back before 5pm. Please log your intention to attend, and indicate your plans if you wish to travel from Dunedin on the bus because places will be limited.
