Geocache Description:

Please replace the cache exactly as you found it.

Maximum stealth will be required.

The difficulty rating relates to how tricky this cache will be to retrieve without being spotted, as this can be a high muggle area, but well worth a visit.

Bank Street Basin was originally part of the vast Monkland Canal network.  Following many years of decline and neglect, the area was regenerated and developed into the civic space you see today.

The basin contains various art intstallations reflecting Coatbridge's rich industrial heritage; including giant sweets, a bath plug and a series of iron heads.  Other art works include smelting crucibles, benches and poems carved into the stonework.

This area marks the begining of a pleasant walkway to Blair Bridge, which marks the begining of the remaining canal system, taking in Drumpellier Country Park and finishing in Bargeddie.
