The Towpath Trail is a circular walk of about 3km, it takes you along the Wareham Causeway, through Ridge, past Redcliff and then back along the Towpath to Wareham. There are plenty of places to park in Wareham but the Quay is the closest (There is is a small fee and you can't park there on Saturdays.)
Wareham Quay has always played a huge part in Wareham's 2000-year history. Whether it be the Vikings invading via the Quay or just that fact that the river was once Wareham's main trade route, the Frome has always been the busy and bustling heart of Wareham. Looking at the Quay today, it's hard to imagine it as was then as it's a fairly quiet area save for market days (Saturday) and holidays. This cache is next to the water meadows and is great place to see nature, if you want to know more there are some very interesting information boards along this part of the trail.
