Geocache Description:

The Yellow Fries were repainted Blue in August of 2019 after a voting contest so these fries are now "Smurf Fries" . Sculptor John Henry’s “Sioux City" , also locally known as the "French Fries” towers 50 feet into the air.
Just take a wild guess as to what this sculpture depicts , give up yet ! The sculpture, representing Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota, was dedicated to Currier Holman, co-founder of Iowa Beef Processors (now Tyson Foods). IBP, as it later became known, revolutionized the meatpacking industry, including perfecting the "boxed beef'' concept in which small cuts of beef, rather than whole carcasses, were shipped in containers to wholesalers and retailers. Three states intertwined in the process of providing "boxed beef'' , the tastiest beef in the world ! Some more History : Sioux City was commissioned in 1977 by the city with funds from the National Endowment for the Arts and Iowa Beef Processors, Inc. Originally placed in the newly renovated downtown mall, the iconic piece has since been moved to a new location in front of the Sioux City Art Center. The sculpture was the second in a generation of large scale pieces that incorporated very large elements, with tubular sections two feet square and upper elements constructed of aluminum to lower the center of gravity. http://www.johnhenrysculpture.com/project/sioux-city/
