The event will be to celebrate our 10 Year anniversary of geocaching. The event will be a family friendly camping weekend based at Borumba Deer Park near Imbil. It will have a similar theme to the Forest Challenges, but will take on a different format, more similar to geocaching. It will involve travelling good grade forest tracks at your own pace, aside from the usual FTF competitive element of some.
All Hobson's Trail participants get a 10% discount on all accommodation. Please ask when booking.
Event Details
The event will be a vehicle based navigation event and camping weekend. It is reccomended for 4WD vehicles. All vehicles must be able to drive on gravelled forest roads.
The main event will start at 12:00 on Saturday. Please make sure you sign in with me on arrival. The event is a multi-cache themed challenge through the forest tracks around Imbil. All cache locations will be accessible (within 50m) from good grade gravel tracks. It will be similar to doing a multi-cache with a twist.
Campsites must be booked in advance please visit the Borumba Deer Park website and mention Hobson's Trail, you will be given a 10% discount.
Sunday
There is the option of having a drive around on Sunday if you wish. There are numerous caches in the area if you wish to do these. Alternatively, there is usally a small market in town near the clock tower.
Everyone Welcome
If you do not wish to do the event, but wish to come out and camp, or just wish to come out and chat with fellow cachers, you are welcome. Day guests are free, but please just ensure that you book in at reception on arrival.
