Geocache Description:

Fred Pinkstone Oval is a little-known sporting field at Peats Ridge. It is next door to The Springs Golf Course.

Fred Pinkstone Oval is a little-known sporting field at Peats Ridge. It is next door to The Springs Golf Course.

Frederick Pinkstone came from a well-respected family in the Peats Ridge area and was a leading citizen of the district. He was a WW1 veteran. He served as an Erina Shire councillor from 1923-1927 when Peats Ridge was part of that shire. He was a significant force in the improvement of the community’s facilities in the Peats Ridge area. You can find out more about Fred in “Peats Ridge Recollections”, a CWA publication.

The cache is a camouflaged micro, hidden on the perimeter of the oval. It may provide quite a challenge for some geocachers. There is plenty of parking at the oval. Keep away from the barbed wire fence beside The Springs property. As the cache is a micro you will need to have a BYO pen and extraction tool. Please be careful with the cache container as it is breakable. You don't need to remove the cache from it's hiding spot, just twist the lid to open it.
