On my way to work in April of 2011, I noticed a homeless man leaning forward in an odd posture against a low block wall. He was still there 10 hours later when I passed by on my way home. Then day after day, week after week, I saw him in the same position at the same spot. Pouring rain and blazing heat didn't stop him. He seemed to be there 24/7 because I saw him on weekends as well as very late at night. As the weeks turned into months I decided that, when it was convenient, I'd walk up to him and ask him his story. But before I did, one day in November, he was gone. I kept looking every time I passed but he wasn't there. Though he briefly made a 1 day appearance at the SE corner of Winnetka & Vanowen I haven't seen him since. I hope that he's OK and found a better place. In memorium, I've placed this cache at the spot he occupied for all those months.
