Originally opening as a Dairy Queen in 1948, this was a local hang-out for generations. Especially during the 60s, 70s, and 80s, young people could be found hanging out with friends in the parking lot, driving through in their hotrods in an attempt to pick up chicks, and even proposing to their future spouses. Now, over a half a century after its opening, people still love this local eatery not only for the good food, but also for the nostalgia. Each October, upwards of a thousand of those teens from the 60s through the 80s come together in the parking lot for an annual reunion – some from as far away as Washington State and Alaska – where they eat, show off their classic cars, listen to oldies from local bands, and reminisce about times spent there in their younger days.
