This cache is hidden around the mid-way point of Natural England's Undercliffs National Nature Reserve, one of the largest active coastal landslide systems in Western Europe.
The only public access to the reserve is via the SWCP, with no means of leaving the route other than the Axmouth & Lyme Regis access points. The route is variously steep, damp & uneven, so ensure you are appropriately equipped & carrying an adequate supply of fluids for the hike. A conservative estimate for completion of the Undercliff is 3-4 hours, though those in reasonable shape can manage it comfortably in around 2.5.
Parking is available at both ends of the reserve (see supplied waypoints), and the X53 Jurassic Coast bus service has scheduled stops in both Axmouth & Lyme Regis.
Please ensure you replace the camouflage on the cache carefully, to ensure its continued survival and to avoid malicious tampering.
At the time of hiding, the cache contained;
- Logbook & pen in watertight bag.
- Letterboxing stamp (please bring your own ink pad).
- 'Discoverable' copies of a 'National Trails' geocoin and a Travelling Cacher Geopatch, which has travelled the entire length of the SWCP.
- Various swaps which should come in handy for any aspiring hikers.
