Geocache Description:

Housed in the restored Whistle Junction Train Depot, this is the site of the Iron County Historical Society. A free museum on the premises holds an impressive collection of artifacts, photographs and records from the counties history.

Situated just yards from the depot is The Huron & Eastern Railway Caboose #650, originally built for the Detroit, Toledo & Ironton Railroad and restored for Our Town Tomorrow/Arcadia Valley Community Betterment Organization, then placed here at Whistle Junction Depot. The entire interior of the caboose is finished and contains a kitchen area and bathroom.

The museum is open from 10 am - 4 pm Monday - Saturday & 1 - 4 pm on Sunday From April through November. In December through march it is open on weekends only.

The cache is outside the Depot and available even when the Depot is closed.
